Meet the 2022 ASIS Atlanta Chapter
Rebecca is a member of ASIS International and has been part of the Greater Atlanta ASIS Chapter since 2019. She served as the Chapter Treasurer in 2020, and currently serves as the chapter’s Chair Person.
Rebecca joined Security Engineers, Inc. in 2019 as Director of the Security Solutions Support Group. As Director of the Security Support Solutions Group, Rebecca serves as Security Engineer’s executive sales lead and security solution architect working with potential customers to design a strategic program to address their specific security needs. Prior to her current role at Security Engineers, Inc., Rebecca spent seventeen years generating organic revenue growth in the security, software, staffing and robotics industries along with developing and leading sales teams.
Rebecca is also a member of the Dalton, GA Chamber of Commerce and Professional Women’s Network. Rebecca obtained a Bachelor of Science from Oral Roberts University in Church Administration. She is a licensed State of GA EMT-Intermediate, Wilderness EMT, Alabama Electronic Security Board Salesperson, Certified First Aid / CPR / AED / Bloodborne Pathogens / Wilderness First Aid Instructor, retired State of GA volunteer firefighter, and retired Volunteer Fire Chief. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation and has been serving as an advisor for the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services Explorer Program since 2012.
Justin DeMone is a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as a Sonar Technician on the USS Newport News (SSN-750), a Los Angeles Class fast attack nuclear submarine. This was Justin’s job working with complex technology systems. After leaving the Navy Justin had a handful of jobs and while he had been successful in many of those roles, it was not until he stumbled into the security industry that he found his true calling, protecting people and property. Justin started out his security career as a security technology integration specialist and has since become physical security expert. Justin has over a decade of experience during which he has helped numerous public and private companies, churches, and schools private and public from K12 to higher education drastically improve their security systems and increase site safety and security. Justin has a passion for helping organizations leverage video analytics to reduce drastically reduce response times and improve efficiency. Justin has worked for Avigilon for over eight years where has started out as a Regional Sales Manager and the only Avigilon employee in Georgia. Justin currently leads a team of seven professional salespeople who serve Avigilon’s customers across the state and they are supported by two Sales Engineers. Justin is a member of ASIS International and has been part of the Greater Atlanta ASIS Chapter since 2012. He currently serves as the chapter’s Vice Chair Person. When not working to help organizations enhance safety and security or supporting his team Justin enjoys spending time with his family outdoors or volunteering at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in an effort to brighten sick children’s days.
J.D. Cannon, CPP, CFE, PCI
JD Cannon is a retired U.S. Department of Homeland Security, ICE - Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Federal Special Agent, with thirty-one (31) years of law enforcement experience, between local, state, and Federal levels. JD was one of two Physical Security Agents (similar to being a Chief Security Officer) for the HSI, Special Agent in Charge – Atlanta Field Office (Georgia and Alabama, area of responsibility) Command Office / Facility located in Metro Atlanta.
During his career in local, state and Federal law enforcement, JD has been the case agent for and participated in investigations involving sex crimes, violent crimes, narcotics trafficking, homicide, burglary, theft of property, assaults, battery, auto theft, child pornography, commercial fraud, intellectual property rights violations, document fraud, benefit fraud and strategic /counter proliferation investigations, money laundering, financial fraud, asset identification and real property (real-estate seizures).
JD is a graduate from the following advanced Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC, Glynco, Georgia) schools: Advanced Strategic Investigations Course (2004), Commercial Fraud Investigations Course (2012), and Counter Proliferations Investigations Training (2014). JD is also a graduate from FLETC Criminal Investigator Training Program / Special Agent Training (CITP in 2002), Customs Basic Enforcement School (CBES in 2002). JD is a graduate from the Federal Air Marshal Training Program and the FAM Follow on Program (FLETC, Artesia, NM 2001). JD also completed the FAM Advanced Tactics Training and Assistant Operations Officer training at separate times (FAA HQ, near Newark, NJ, 2002). JD has also attended several Federal training conferences / seminars to include, Cyber Crimes, Narcotics Interdiction, Counter Proliferations, Commercial Fraud, and Intellectual Property. JD has received advanced training as an Asset Forfeiture Specialist. JD has the following four college degrees; AGS / AA / AAS / BA (Phi Theta Kappa, National College Honor Society / Magna Cum Laude).
JD is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is a Member of the International Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and he is also an Associate Member of the Georgia Chapter for Certified Fraud Examiners (GACFE). Previously in his L.E. career, when JD was a Senior Police Detective, he obtained a level five "Senior Certification in Law Enforcement" from the State of Arkansas, Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST).
JD is also a Certified Protection Professional in Security Management (CPP) and a Professional Certified Investigator (PCI). JD is a member of ASIS - International, a Board-Certified Professional Credentialing Organization for Security Professionals. JD is one of four Executive Officers on the Board for the Metro Atlanta Chapter of ASIS - International. JD is serving his third year on the Executive Board, currently as the Treasurer / Chief Financial Officer.
JD’s last assignment was to the Global Trade Fraud/Commercial Fraud and Counter Proliferations Investigations Group. Over the years JD was assigned to other groups to include the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Atlanta Strike Force Group based with the Atlanta FBI Field Office from 2006 -2011, and the Airport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Drug Task Force Group (U.S. Customs).
In 2010, JD received an "ICE / Office of Investigations Directors Award" for being one of the group members who worked on a very large scale, Bulk Cash Smuggling and Narcotics Case, that was selected as the "Contraband and Smuggling Case of the Year" for 2009. The name of that investigation is "Operation Pay Cut". The group that JD was assigned to seized 22.7 million Dollars in U.S. Currency and a large amount of Cocaine, Marijuana, and some methamphetamine during this investigation. In 2011, JD received a separate award for his service to the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Atlanta Strike Force Group.
JD has been cross trained for being on U.S. Secret Service (USSS) protection details. JD has served on temporary duty assignments for U.S. Secret Service in both New York City and Washington D.C. JD has served on several TDY, USSS assignments for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
During the almost 10 years that JD was a Police Officer and later promoted to being a Police Detective, he worked part-time police security jobs at a large indoor shopping mall, a convention center and for about 7 years at a very large Regional Medical Center (500 bed facility, Level 1 Trauma Center, and Registered Nurse School).
JD is a U.S. Army Veteran. JD served enlistments in both the Regular (full-time active duty) U.S. Army, including three years overseas and with the U.S. Army Reserves. JD was enlisted from January 1985 until November 1993 (with extensions) as a Chemical Operations Specialist.
Jason Fields, CECFE, CFE, CISA, PSOC
Jason is an experienced senior manager with over 25 years of experience spanning all areas of the electric utility business. In addition to the core business, also have a diverse background covering the areas of risk identification and mitigation, fraud prevention/detection/investigation and executive protection.
He is a member of ASIS International and serves as the Secretary of the Greater Atlanta ASIS Chapter.
He obtained a BBA from Georgia Southern University in marketing. He is a State of Georgia Licensed Private Investigator, Certified Peace Officer, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Economic Crime Forensic Examiner (CECFE). He has obtained his Protective Security Operations Certification (PSOC), ASIS Executive Protection Certification, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secret Security Clearance.
